Amazon.com Product Description (ISBN 0990548309, Paperback)

"The Mexico I thought I'd known turned out to be an illusion...where all the nasty bits were purposely ignored. They lurked just under the surface, waiting to slap anybody in the face who looked down too far." Based on historical incidents that took place in Mexico in 1967, Mexican Cul De Sac follows the violent chain of events experienced by American High School students from Mexico City after they witness a political assassination during a night of drunken fun and games in Acapulco. Gone missing and on the run, they stumble from one temporary refuge to another, each time ending up farther from home and closer to becoming collateral damage in the brutal scheme of Mexican politics. Mexican Cul De Sac is a frightening trip into some of the less visited parts of the 1960s, areas populated by pistoleros, pissed-off peasants, putas and smugglers. Survival in this underworld is in doubt every uncertain step of the way.
