Wendy Dekker is a fourteen year-old German girl who was raised in the United States. Her biological mother took her away from her family and took her back to Germany. Wendy has a hard time fitting in, in her new world. She does not agree with the political views of the Nazis. She spends a large portion of her time coming up with an escape plan. After a lot of careful planning she is able to escape to her family.
