I really enjoyed this book for a couple of different reasons. My favorite part about the book was that it was set up in a chat messages style. I think this really added to the fact that it was informing the reader about things relating to computers or the Internet. I also liked the characters in the book. The characters were very relatable to the reader and provided a mirroring opportunity. For example, the reader may have created an username using their real information like Zach did. The reader can relate to himself or herself being on the Internet and messaging friends and family. Finally, I liked the illustrations and layout of the book. Half of the page was the chat/messages between Zach and Becky and the remaining portion was an illustration. The illustrations were fun and cartoon like and related to what was being discussed in the chat/message. I really liked these illustrations and they were more unique than other illustrations I’ve seen. My favorite illustrations where the “on and off” buttons that were on the road like cars. I thought they were adorable and added to the readers understanding of the text. The big idea/message of this story is for the reader to understand the basics of Internet safety and the dangers that surround the World Wide Web. ( )
