An excellent mix of fiction, poetry, interviews, a non-fiction piece, and an epistolary exchange between Terry Southern and George Plimpton.

In “Locals” a man with a pretty good life – just not the one he envisioned for himself – feels he’s painted himself into a corner. “Jimmy” is the harrowing story of a young man who progresses from his job as a union sand hog in New York to a life in prison.

Interviews are with Romanian writer Herta Müller, Romanian/Israeli writer Aharon Appelfeld, and realistic comic artist Chris Ware. ( )
