A very well documented book that adds new information to the history of aviation in the United States from its beginning days up to the Space Flight era. Morrow also sought our first hand information from the often unheralded people who contributed to the success of aviation in this country; the women who worked as nurse, substitute pilots, and airplane mechanics during World War II; and the African American Soldiers who labored to keep our pilots flying. For lovers of aviation, informative history, or first hand stories from the diaries of every-day heroes, this book is a fun read.
