Summary
This is a child’s informational book about the Liberty Bell. The author includes many very small chapters and each chapter is specific about a topic concerning the Liberty Bell. History is the main topic covered including points about the Revolutionary War and the Declaration of Independence. It also tells about the meaning of the bell to America and also where the bell sits today.

Personal Reaction
This is a great resource for a fourth or fifth grade student who is doing a report about this specific topic. The photos give the reader a better idea about the history of the bell. Although it’s not in a story format, it gives concise and accurate information in a non-threatening way. This wasn’t a book that I would have picked on my own to read as a leisure book however I would recommend this and others in the series to students for a research source.

Classroom Extension
1. A student could use this book in a research project about the Revolutionary War or America. Have students practice searching for facts throughout the text.
2. Use in a classroom as a part of a unit on America and allow students to search information on each page individually.
