a nice mystery from the great white north. right up my alley I thought.

I was wrong.

I read the first in this series and threw in the towel. not a bad idea...journalist moving to a rather small island off the Denmark coast to start anew with her two children in a house left by her grandmother.
and perhaps the gruesome mystery of the murder of an elderly woman on the island would make a good book, she thinks.

well, it might have if things did not shortly go off the tracks in several bizarre and unbelievable ways. bizarre and unbelievable pretty much summing up the rest of the book.
and did I mention not very well written or badly translated.

needless to say, I did not read the other two in the series. ( )
