A paranormal romance, with a twist. Ms. Dechain takes us for a pirate adventure with monstrous werewolves at the helm. The creation of this period piece brings detailed settings, and humans encounters with werewolves that don't change back into humans, but remain wolves all the time.
Gregor and Catherine's relationship grows, and Fiana (Catherine's maid) isn't left out of the mix. This creates an Interesting twist, since in most paranormal romances, wolves mate for life, and Catherine isn't Gregor's first mate.
There are a lot of typos in Werewolf Pirates, and it needs a little editing polishing. ( )

Catherine St. Claire and her buxom Irish maid Fianna are travelling across the Atlantic to Virginia in America when their ship spots the skull and bones flag of the dreaded pirate ship the "Fang". The vessel isn't crewed by any ordinary pirates – s he's manned by a bloodthirsty pack of freebooting werewolves, led by the notorious Captain Gregor. The crew of the "Fang" quickly boards and destroys Catherine's vessel and Gregor makes the wilful young woman and her maid his personal captives. Initially repulsed by the cruel wolfman, Catherine soon begins to develop strange thoughts and feeling about him and before long she finds herself submitting to his dominant will. The high seas are fraught with danger, however, and no sooner has Catherine connected with the man buried deep in the werewolf than a vicious old enemy of Gregor's appears on the horizon in the form of the beautiful but deadly female werewolf, Lilith. From the pen of erotica author Natalie Deschain "Werewolf Pirates" is a rollicking good read that is fast paced and full of sea-borne adventure and red hot sex. Both Catherine and Gregor are great characters that are given vivid life over a very short period of time. The supporting characters and the world surrounding them are also nicely built giving the overall story a good level of depth that is rare in short form erotic fiction. The author writes in a compelling and breathless style, with her writing imbued with a nice flow and rhythm that ensures the pages keep turning rapidly. The only real criticism is that the end of the book (although entirely appropriate and highly satisfactory) dictates against too many further adventures for Gregor and Catherine. The world that Natalie Deschain has conceived in "Werewolf Pirates" does, however, open opportunity for other stories – I particularly look forward to learning about the back story between Lilith and Gregor and surely there has to be a story about the further of adventure of Lilith.
