This is clever and well written but ultimately unsatisfying. It tries to answer some of the questions you have when you read "Jane Eyre".
Do the servants know who is in the attic? Why does Mrs Fairfax not tell Jane if she knows who it is?
The explanation is plausible but the issue with this book is how it ends. What the author is going to do is telegraphed right from the beginning and surprise surprise, she does exactly that and I just didn't buy it. ( )
