... probably only because I was reading it late at night when I was tired and should have been asleep). We also listened to 4.50 from Paddington in the car (one I hadn't read, and I guessed the entirely wrong person as usual). I also started City of Glass, but am only a few pages in. It's one of those paragraphs that kinda screams Christie - and I decided not to post only part of it :)
y2pk,
Yes - 4.50 from Paddington it is. :) Your turn
Is this from What Mrs. McGillicuddy Saw?
... but I've been wanting to get back to it for a while now. I recently picked up one of her Miss Marple books, I think it's 4.50 from Paddington, should be interesting since I've only stuck with Poirot in the past. Have you read any of the Marple series? ... Gladwell's style is breezy and easy to read, but he could use a grammar checker and in one case, a fact checker.
(25) What Mrs. McGillicuddy Saw! by Agatha Christie (alternate title: 4:50 From Paddington)
I do like Miss Marple. Her friend Elspeth McGillicuddy sees a murder on a train and ... What Mrs. McGillicuddy Saw by Agatha Christie. Read . . . have no idea when, really. #19 4:50 From Paddington by Agatha Christie
This is one of the Miss Marple mysteries and is pure fun! I loved reading these books as a child and have recently rediscovered them after watching the new BBC series of Miss Marple mysteries. They read very quickly and are so much fun. I love ... (25) What Mrs. McGillicuddy Saw! by Agatha Christie (alternate title: 4:50 From Paddington)
I do like Miss Marple. Her friend Elspeth McGillicuddy sees a murder on a train and it goes from there. Two more murders and then it's solved. Classic Christie. ... book for ages!!!' Soothes your conscience nice and easy...
But I decided to be strong this time and only chose one book:
4.50 from Paddington by Agatha Christie
I always had the notion of Agatha Christie books to be absolutely terrifying. No idea why. But I was more than pleased to find ... I'm trying to decrease my TBR pile, but those three came across my way last week:

2. ... ... when I joined at the start of the year, and quite a few are left. But just this week Watermelon by Marian Keyes and 4.50 from Paddington by Agatha Christie are off to happy new homes. I thought they'd sit forever... I think that's from 4.50 from Paddington aka What Mrs. McGillicuddy Saw.
I am currently reading a Miss Marple-What Mrs. McGillicuddy Saw and loving it. It is my first Agatha Christie in over thirty years and I can't believe how much fun it is to be reading her again.
But I like all sorts of cozy mysteries, except for the cat ones because I'm not a fan of cats. I thought I posted this yesterday but can't seem to find it - weird. I just finished What Mrs. McGillicuddy Saw! and am now reading Fever, 1793 which I am really enjoying. I just finished What Mrs. McGillicuddy Saw! and enjoyed it very much - a good, quick, light read. I am about to begin Fever 1793. My daughter is reading it for school and, because her teacher told me it is a bit of a difficult read and she may need some help with it, I decided to read it ... 10. What Mrs. McGillicuddy Saw! by Agatha Christie - again good but not earth shattering. I enjoy reading these stories though. Another selection from my 888 challenge. I finished The Island of Dr. Moreau and The Mirror Crack'd last week. This week I am working on What Mrs. McGillicuddy Saw. We are preparing to go on vacation soon and I am looking through my monster stacks of TBRs to try and decide what to bring with me. ... Gardens, Peter Pan and Wendy, Peter Pan (228pp total)

8. And Then There Were None Has anyone noticed that Christie often uses recurring themes in her work?
For instance, she obviously has something against doctors - they have been the murderer in several of her novels which I've deleted so as not to spoil the mystery. Does anyone else have one?
4:50 from Paddington by Agatha Christie ... of Elizabeth Cree for the U.S. market, Agatha Christie's 4:50 from Paddington was published in the States as What Mrs. McGillicuddy Saw, and it goes on and on.

Feel Nifty After 50 by Jo Peddicord
Only One Woof by James Herriot Lucy Eyelesbarrow! (Well, isn't that obvious?) She's not exactly a detective, but she helped ms. marple in 4.50 from paddington. And I like the fact that she was an Oxford mathematician turned domestic help. It's unfortunate that she only appeared in one Agatha Christie book. I also vote for ... 8:55 to Baghdad by Andrew Eames
