This was an interesting start to the series and I like that the main character has so many flaws.. There were a lot of twists and turns in this novel, every time I thought I had it figured out, another clue was dropped and I knew I was wrong. I can't wait to see what happens with Lucy and Todd in future books, will they become enemies or friends?

Amelia Sciandra did a great job of narrating this novel. She spoke clearly and concisely and I was able to listen to the novel at 2.5x speed and still understand everything that was being said. I would definitely listen to more books narrated by Amelia in the future. ( )

Lucy Kendall kills but only child predators. As she stalks the latest a child goes missing. What connections are there to a previous case of hers? Who is the man who thinks he knows her secret?
First in a series - wondering where the series will lead to. ( )

This book has a female lead that can slightly be compared to the infamous Dexter. I thought this book was great, it was a fast read and kept you wanting more. I thought I had it figured out but was completely wrong. The book also gave you an end but also left you with a cliff hanger for the next in the series. I feel this book was well written, it flowed easily along and the different characters helped to keep it interesting. I will be looking forward to more in this series as well as others by this author. ( )

Very exciting! Lucy Kendall is a private detective, and formerly worked for Child Protective Services. Her goal in life is to get rid of pedafiles. In this book Lucy gets involved with a case in which a little girl is kidnapped, and Lucy suspects a man who was involved in one of her previous CPS cases. However, as she gets deeper into the case, she finds that several of the major players are connected to each other. Is it a coincidence? The story is woven together in a very fine way and really keeps the reader thinking. It was well-written and was pretty believable. I also liked the ending. I highly recommend this book! ( )

This is much more than just a mystery. It is a search for a child. It is a mirror of how the criminal justice system fails the victims. It points a finger at the inaccuracies and inanities of how those convicted of sexual crimes are thereafter labeled. Lucy Kendall is a sympathetic character with many excellent qualities though she is going down a path that may leave her no return. I can't wait for the next book in the series to see where she grows from here. Highly recommended. ( )
