Maybe I've read too many in this series, but this one never grabbed me. I think it's time for Kate to pull up her big-girl panties GROW UP. How can such an emotionally reactive person possibly hold a responsible job like Chief of Police? And she constantly gets herself into ridiculous and dangerous situations through her own lack of reasoning and forethought. (Sometimes I felt like I was reading a Stephanie Plum book.) Tomasetti isn't a whole lot better -- he consistently overreacts and separates himself from the issues at hand. Won't go into specifics to avoid spoilers, but these characters really got on my nerves this time. ( )

3 when I'm interested, 2 when I'm not... strange, but the book doesn't need much attention ( )

I continue to enjoy this series and this book doesn't disappoint. Very good character development, which is critical for me in enjoying mysteries. ( )

I am new to the series and this is the first book I've read so far. I liked the book and loved the character of Kate. I'm soon going to go back and start reading from book one. I want to know more about the main character, her background, and the people in the town. I've read a couple of Amish themed books and this one is definitely different and I like it.

The main storyline wasn't that big of a mystery, I guessed correctly on several things before the big reveal. It was still a good storyline, since it didn't keep me bored and I liked seeing Kate interact with the Amish community. I wonder if in her other books, how prominent they are, in the storyline.

The ending left me sad, which is good, since it made me care for the characters. As I have not read any of the other books, it shows how good the Author made her character, that after one book, I'm already feeling for a character.

Overall I'm pleased and now I'm off to catch up on the rest of the books. I've officially become hooked to the series.

I won this book in a giveaway for an honest review. ( )
