He'd never wanted another woman the way he desired her. Hot. Intense. Consuming. Being so close to Gwen, Chance knew that he wouldn't be able to resist her. So he gave in to his need, her need, and he took them both to the edge of a dark and consuming desire. But Chance soon realizes that he isn't the only one watching Gwen. Enjoyable romantic suspense. I liked Gwen. Chance was a moron. So much drama could have been solved with honesty. He lies/omits way too often for my enjoyment. And spends way too much time saying the wrong thing. Couldn't he have just said - hey your dad came to see me? The romance was about what you'd expect from this genre. The mystery was good, if not fairly predictable.

I liked Sophie and I liked Ethan - I really want to know more of their backstory. It seems very dark and bloody. Just what I love. ( )

I wish I could give this one more. I am a big fan of Cynthia Eden's & love most of the books I've read of hers. But, this one was lacking in a few areas.

My biggest problem was the repetition. I think if I read one more time "She/He wanted his/her hands on her/him. ......since the first ....." I was going to scream & pull my hair out.

Was the mystery and criminal element well played? Yes, it was. BUT, and this is a big BUT!

I've been a BIG fan of Cynthia Eden's for a long time, which is why it's hard to admit that this is the first contemporary book of hers that I've read. I love her paranormal stories. I expected this book to be good, but I was honestly surprised that I enjoyed it as much as I did. I don't read a lot of contemporary romances or contemporary suspense for that matter. I pretty much stick to paranormal, historical, YA, and urban fantasy. So to enjoy this book was a treat. She's created quite a security firm of hot guys in this series. Even the bad guys are interesting. If you're a fan of Cynthia Eden and you've been on the fence about picking this series up, I suggest you give it a try. I don't think you'll be disappointed. ( )

I received a free copy from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review

Alright! A new series from Cynthia Eden, and she never disappoints. With her signature flair for romance, mystery and thrillers she has once again given us a great story. Though similar to the Mine series, it has its own personality with a smattering of intriguing characters. Looking forward to the next installment. ( )

DESCRIPTION, NOT REVIEW: He was hired to protect her.

Watching gorgeous Gwen Hawthorne wasn't a hard job--but it certainly was tempting. He'd never wanted another woman the way he desired her. Hot. Intense. Consuming. Being so close to Gwen, Chance knew that he wouldn't be able to resist her. So he gave into his need, her need, and he took them both to the edge of a dark and consuming desire.
