Fresh, funny, inventive, irreverent. Well worth a read! It's an original and comic take on the Arthurian legend, subverting every trope found along the way. Our wide-eyed and idealistic heroine Pig is plucked from a very humble occupation indeed to become page to Sir Kay, and together they get sent on a quest. Sir Kay does not want to go on a quest, and definitely not with Pig; he'd much rather stay at home at Camelot and do some quiet book-keeping. Pig has other ideas. Mostly wrong ones.

I loved the jokes, the footnotes, the riffs on wrestling and geocaching, and Pig. I did actually laugh out loud at several points, which is not a thing i do lightly. If you like your comic fantasy funny, subversive and free of get-out-of-jail-free magic, this is the book to start 2015 with. ( )
