Amazon.com Product Description (ISBN 0990709108, Paperback)

A Mission Twice Doomed! In the year 2132, World Space Coalition (WSC) sent three ships to establish Earth's first galactic colony on Akiane, a planet in the Pegasus Constellation. They were never heard from again! Now, a radio technician has discovered that the colony survived, however those on Akiane want nothing to do with Earth. Everything they have accomplished, they have done without Earth’s help. Since the colony was supposed to be WSC’s greatest achievement, they are determined to reclaim Akiane and its people as its own. WSC has ordered Lt. Jessica M. Hewitt to negotiate with the rogue colony. A lot is riding on Lt. Hewitt’s doing a good job; if she succeeds her name will go into history as a hero. If she fails to convince the people of Akiane that they are an Earth colony, however, history will see her as responsible for WSC’s first military galactic takeover. Unfortunately, Jess feels ill equipped. She has no earthly idea why she’s been chosen for such an historic task. At the onset of her mission, she doesn’t realize that before she can reunite the two worlds, she is going to have to first settle with her own demons. Sadly, so far, her demons are winning.
