Fantastic read!! If you love sweet small town romance this is definitely one you don't want to miss. Set in the fictional small town of Adams Grove, VA with all the fun quirky characters that bring the setting to life.

While on a dreaded trip home, Savannah Dey is stopped while speeding. Well, according to the sheriff. The very yummy handsome sheriff. After hearing her tale of woe he lets her off with a warning and sends her into Adams Grove to have her tire looked at. While there she is stuck in town due to a parade. Yep, a parade! Since she couldn't get out of town in time for the event she was heading home for she decides to stick around Adams Grove for a while. That's when things really get interesting!!

Like I said you don't want to miss this one. Filled with humor, hope, and a lot of love. I highly recommend it.

"Barbecue and Bad News" by Nancy Naigle

What I liked about this novel.....

I liked this romantic read that seem to bring the reader full circle for this heroine Savannah who was in a place where no one wants to be and that is alone. As the story continues she is on the way to her home to attend her ex's wedding and now Savannah has been stopped by a cop for speeding. Maybe this was a good thing because now she wouldn't be able to get to this wedding. What my main question was doing all of this was why it necessary for her to attend her ex's wedding in the first place? Savannah hadn't been home in many year since her parents death and now it looks like she is having car problems....in another small town called Adams Grove. However, her boss thought with Savannah being a columnist this would be a good idea for her to dig up some information about this town and its sheriff that gave her the ticket. Now, I don't want to tell it all but I hope to have gotten your attention enough to check out this interesting read. Will Savannah become a better person after coming to this small town of Adams Grove after it is all said and done? ( )

Barbecue and Bad News by Nancy Naigle is a 2015 Montlake publication. I was provided a copy of this book by the publisher and Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

This 6th installment in the Adams Grove series starts off with a magical quality to it. Even if you have not read the other books in the series, ( and of course you will want to do that), you can read this one as a stand alone. I promise you will fall in love with Adams Grove, the quintessential small town you will never want to leave.

Savannah Dey was headed to her ex-husband's wedding, driving from DC to the small town where she grew up, dreading it every mile of the way. To put the cherry on the cake, she gets pulled over in Adam's Grove for going seven miles over the speed limit, then finds herself stuck there for a while. While this development was very frustrating, it could be just what Savannah needs to put the past behind her once and for all and look forward to a new future with a clean slate.

The sheriff of Adams Grove Scott Calvin, can't believe the woman he pulled over has decided to extend her visit for a while and not only that, for some reason she gets under his skin in a big way. Sparks fly between the two causing the author and writer in Savannah to use her skill to exact revenge.

“Writers don't get mad, they get even.” 'So she couldn't kill him off in a novel, but she sure did just fry his butt in that article.... even if he'd never know it. Payback. Karma. Call it what you like, but that cranky sheriff just got his dose.'

While working on her new assignment, Savannah grows really close to the residents of Adams Grove which leads her to start wondering about a crime that many were trying to put behind them. But, was it really over? Were there a few loose ends to be tied up? Can Savannah convince Scott to look into it?

This is a charming story with a little mystery, a sweet romance and a lot of depth to it. Savannah carries around some heavy luggage and had never really dealt with her past. In Adams Grove she will meet some very special people and will begin to see she will have to face the past in order to have any hope of a happy future.

Despite the handsome Scott Calvin's issues with city girls, he could also change her mind about getting involved in another relationship, but, well, first she will have to deal with all that payback and karma she stirred up.

If you are in the mood for a sweet, light, contemporary heartwarming romance, this book has your name on it! 4 stars ( )
