English Review:
It has been a long time since I last read a Dutch book but I am glad I did cause I re-discovered that I am still much faster reading Dutch than English, even after all those years. This book is written by a Dutch woman. A woman I could compare myself with. She comes from the same town as me, bit the same age but most important her daughter died at age 20 as is my daughter now.

This is the story about a 20 year old beautiful girl who loves life .She ends her volatile relationship with her boyfriend but then tries to help him overcome his sadness. One day he asks her to visit his home. That will be the last time he'll bother her he tells her on the phone. He wants to give her a last gift and she decided to go.

His gift? He knives her 36 times and she dies. This is the story about the desperation and sadness that swallows her family whole. Her mom and dad and her sister Jacqueline. It came very close to home and it made me cry. Even more so when i discovered a video on youtube where you could see Nadine dance. (she loved to dance). 3.5 stars.

Dutch review:
