This is an amusing slice of short-form gender-bending erotic fiction from the ever reliable Natalie Deschain. The story sees two intrepid astronauts Jack Richardson and Casey “Hardcase” Adams piloting the first manned journey to Mars. As their craft begins its final descent into the Martian atmosphere things go wrong and if looks as if they are doomed to crash. At the last minute, however, their lander stops in mid-air and it’s suddenly peeled open by the strange inhabitants of the red planet. Jack and Casey are taken captive by a race of giant techno-barbarians and dragged off to a strange arena. Things go from bad to worse for our two macho heroes, when they find themselves mysteriously transformed into beautiful women and it appears that they will become the sex slaves of the savage, massively endowed warlord of Mars. “Mars Needs Bimbos” is a campy little tale that moves along with plenty of zing and pace. Natalie Deschain’s writing is smooth and easy, with a quick wit and sly way with rapid character building. The story is more silly than sexy, but is a fine little yarn if you have a spare hour to fill. ( )
