DNF @ 9% porque la vida es muy corta. Y los personajes muy estúpidos.

Sorry not sorry.

Chloe is a girl who has built walls around her so high that they are impossible to breach. She refuses to let anyone get near her and is counting down the days until she graduates high school and can take to the road on her own adventure. The only problem with shutting everyone out is that it's an invite for people to try and tear down those carefully placed walls. Soon the day arrives where Chloe bumps into Blake, literally, and she begins questioning her heart and wondering if sometimes walls were meant to be taken down.

Overall, in my opinion, this book is a mix between the movies A Walk to Remember and Here on Earth, only with more adult language, drug use, and mild sexual situations. Chloe has lost both her mother and aunt to an illness and she may, one day, end up having the same illness. She decides to shut everyone out and go on a road trip on her own in an attempt, in her mind, to live life to the fullest but in doing so, she misses out on the real joys of life like friendship, family, love, and laughter. It was sweet the way that Blake relentlessly stayed by Chloe's side, and I understand the pain and fear that Chloe was experiencing, but while we were given the sense that Chloe was trying to do what was right for everyone by leaving, it felt like she was only taking the easy route and causing more pain for those she supposedly cared for. It was hard to connect to her because she was so conceited. Thankfully this changed toward the end of the story and it pulled me back in. I'm a sucker for cheesy romance, but honestly, it did take me longer than usual to get through this story because there wasn't really anything that grabbed my attention and the romance factor just wasn't as genuine feeling as I'd have liked.

Chloe, the loner. All she wants is to finish high school and hit the road. Fly under the radar. Avoid close relationships. She lost her mom to cancer. She is determined she will to. Her life plan is to just be... alone.

Blake. Mr Popular. Chloe's temporary savior. He falls hard for this beautiful girl. This is his only flaw.

The slow build of a beautiful friendship between these characters will have you smiling throughout the book. Chloe's self-destructive, loner behavior every time Black gets too close will have you cringing. Your heart may be heavy at times in this story. Not everything is unicorns and rainbows. The fears of life are real. The love these two find is real. Their inevitable separation when the time comes, it real. The journey from start to finish is real.

This is a loving, yet heart breaking, yet heart warming story. The fears in this story are so life-like. They are raw and relate-able. ( )

I won this book as I saw it sounded so good. Blake Hunter ran in the park with his eyes closed. He knew each step as he ran most nights to clear his head. He's a basketball star in high school. He has it all on the outside as people look at him thinking he had it all, but he let anyone see beyond his protective wall. All of his and his dreams, One bight as he ran with hie eyes closed an ran into something soft and warm, then he heard a mphf.

Chloe ran from the jerk in the park into a hard brick hall, and fell on her butt losing a shoe and bruising her hands. All she wanted was to become someone else for the night. She had plans for her future, to hit the road. She promised herself not let anyone in or get too close as she learned the hard way, but Blake easily sneaked under her wall and into her heart.. ( )

An amazing story! You will want to grab some tissues and this book and settle in to read from start to finish because you won't want to put it down. After suffering the loss of her mother and her aunt, Chloe has decided to live her life alone. If you don't love, you don't lose, you don't hurt others. What she didn't count on was meeting Blake Hunter. This is a wonderful journey of young love, facing fears, and exquisite joy. This one needs to go on the must read list. I highly recommend it. ( )
