Book description
"When Rufus, a red fox, boasted to some of his friends on Rock Ridge that he knew a place where there were one hundred chickens, he did not realize into how much trouble he was getting himself.  Both Washy the Raccoon and Skunky were delighted at the thought of such nice hunting and urged Rufus to show them at once the farm where such fine fare waited.  Rufus agreed with some reluctance, and the three friends started out through the moonlight.
They found the farm but it was not exactly as Rufus had described it.  It turned out to be the home of Tallyho, the hound who had been an enemy of Rufus for a long time.
What happened to the fox, the skunk, the raccoon and the hound makes an exciting and amusing story that any young animal lover will enjoy.  Nils Hogner's striking pictures show Rufus in the various aspects of his adventures." (dust jacket)
