I am not an actor, director or playwright, but after watching one of his performances in a Portland Hilton last weekend, I went to Maxwell's reading of this book and was very moved and excited by his words. As I told a friend, this isn't just about theater, it's about life and how to be a better human. Such a small, powerful book.... Brilliant.

"Listening is the most generous act on stage." "If you are feeling lost or disconnected from the people you're on stage with, just like a musician would, listen your way back into time."

"Keep interrogating what you do to ward off the automatic."
