Please note that this title can be purchased separately or is one of four (4) short stories in "Valentine Romance: The Best Short Story Romances" by Angela Ford, Jennifer Conner, Sharon Kleve, and Natalie-Nicole Bates. I highly recommend reading all four (4) stories - independently purchased or as a short story collection purchase - "The Best" is an accurate description!

*************
I learned that this is volume 5 in The Corny Myers Series but I read it as a stand-alone and found it to be an absolutely charming treat. With Valentine’s Day only days away, I hope that this short story will be discovered by every single person that wants to flirt with their partner. It could be the perfect extra-special surprise by adding this short story to their Valentine’s Day gift. I can imagine the delight of the recipient turning on their eReader (e.g. Kindle, Nook) and discovering this story has been sent for their enchanted reading. Or, I could imagine the exclamations of cheers to receive the paperback edition on top of a box of red velvet cupcakes wrapped exquisitely for this special day. And when I was single without a date on Valentine’s Day, I would have loved to have curled up with this story to giggle the night away and fantasize about my future. But back to the story…

The main characters are Corny, Pete, and Steve. Corny Myers is a very special private investigator as she was born with a unique psychic ability which allows her to communicate with animals. Corny has previously opened her own ‘pet detective agency’ named Green Hornet Investigations. Her pet extraordinaire is a ferret named Pete. The love of her life and heartthrob is a very sensual cop named Steve. Who could ask for more?

Well be assured – there’s more! This time there is a ‘human’ case for Corny to solve as she makes a very special ‘valentine promise’ during a dream. There’s just no stopping Corny when she makes a promise to solve the mystery for her old boss! The short story is fast-paced, bubbling with flirtatious and cute sexual innuendos, and so much fun to read. There were moments when I couldn’t stop giggling.

Who could ask for more? The story is simply irresistible! There’s only one thing left to do! While I wait for Book 6 (and I seriously hope there’s a volume 6 coming in this series), I must hurry up and read the first 4 short stories in this series. Happy Valentine’s Day everyone! ( )
