"Flat Stanley and the Very Big Cookie" by Lori Haskins was a very good book. It has a well written plot that takes the readers on a journey. The main theme is about helping others when they are having problems. This book also helps the readers understand if they put their mind to it and work hard no matter what their disability might be they can always reach their goals. The main character in the story had a bullentin board fall on him but that never stopped him from doing what he wanted to do. The story shows how Flat Stanley and his brother help the local bakery owner come up with a new idea to get customers to buy bake goods from him. The owner is sad because no customers are coming in to buy bake goods from him. Flat Stanley and his brother decide that they need to come up with the next big thing. When they are trying to help the owner come up with an idea Flat Stanley falls into the dough, and the owners realizes that he just found the new thing! He decides that he is going to bake giant life size cookies and decorate them. It ends up being the next big thing and everyone in the town wants one! Flat Stanley's parents are so proud of him and his brother. ( )
