I liked this graphic novel. The drawings are nicely done and the story kept me reading through the book. There is a serious tone to the book, but not so much that it would overwhelm children. ( )

Deceptively simple but packed with heartfelt and complex relationships. Sunny's reactions to all the things going on around her ring true and the exploration of a difficult topic is done appropriately for the reader's age. This is a gem. ( )

Sunny is looking forward to summer and the beach with her friend, but plans change. She is sent to live with her Grandpa for the summer due to the fact that her brother is dealing with an addiction to drugs. She learns to love her time with Grandpa and meets a friend who introduces her to comics and much more! A great book!

Sunny is not thrilled when her beach vacation is canceled and she is sent to Florida to visit her Gramps. The time starts out rough as Sunny is on an uncomfortable bed doing not-so-great activities. Soon she finds a friend, discovers superhero graphic novels, and gets some peace about her older brother who seems to be having problems with drugs. ( )

This was a cute story. A girl goes to Florida for the summer and stays with her grandfather. At first, everything is boring, but she finds a friend who opens her world up to comics. Great for any age to read. Deals with abuse, drugs, lying and how to treat people. Illustrations were wonderful as well. Happy ending. ( )
