The Clearwater is a sloop, constructed by a group of people interested in restoring the environment of the Hudson River in New York State. During the sailing season it sails up and down the Hudson, stopping at various river front locales, where it presents folk music concerts and environmental activities. The first crew was mainly folksingers and environmental activists including Pete Seeger, who was a leader in the movement. This songbook, compiled by folksinger Don McLean (yes, the famous one), contains lots of good material including many of the songs sung along the way. ( )
