Blue S ... America Alone by Mark Steyn. Not exclusively politics, but certainly a reasoned view of the most important issue (at least to most conservtaives) today.
Also, not knowing the age of the students, I would recommend A Conflict of Visions by Sowell. I'm yet to find a better book on why the Left ... ... Bush read 94. He wouldn't release the stats as they stand this year. However I do know that Pres. Bush is big fan of both America Alone and The History of the English Speaking Peoples Since 1900. And I'll wager that The Forgotten Man will be on his list soon. ... what it takes to snap out of it and ensure that we remain #1 for the foreseeable future.
There are dozens of books like America Alone that make the case that the USA is the only western country still capable of carrying on the flame. But Mark Steyn, Victor Davis Hanson, Newt, and ... ... as an impartial account. Of course, that may mean dull unless you are very interested in the subject.

Have you read Steyn's latest book America Alone? It is a good read. In it, he basically discusses how in the future America may end up having to go it alone against radical Islam, seeing as the mess Europe is in with regards to their Muslim populations. You know, how ... America Alone isn't a collection. Since I only discovered Steyn's brilliance during the 2004 campaign, I enjoyed catching up on his old stuff in his collections The Face of the Tiger and Mark Steyn From Head to Toe. I agree. But I don't know if America Alone appeals to me, since I read his columns faithfully. Usually, if I read an authors columns, I don't buy a collection of them. And America Alone is a collection, right? Does he have other books? I got Shelby Steele's White Guilt and Mark Steyn's America Alone.
I look forward to reading both.
