Loki appears again with his own brand of mischievous assistance, this time for a dwarf in search of his wayward brothers. I love this depiction of Loki as humane and compassionate. It adds a layer to the traditional trickster god, of which you see little in this story. Anyone in the mood for a quick read would like ML Larson's Norse short stories. ( )

*I received the ebook version of this from a giveaway on LibraryThing.

There's not much to say about this one either. In this short story, we follow Jari, a dwarf, on his quest to search for his brothers and on the way he gains the help of Loki and Odin (although he really doesn't like Odin).
I actually like this one more than the first, and found it intriguing to read from Jari's view, of how he met Loki and how he deals with their on-horse adventure to different places.
I still didn't love it though.
I'm sure others might like it more, and so I would still recommend it to anyone looking for a nice, short read. ( )

Book description
Jari, a young dwarf from an isolated kingdom, is sent out to find his trouble-making brothers. After being saved by a stranger from being trampled by a horse, Jari finds himself with a new companion in this strange land. As they search for Jari's kin, they find more trouble made than either of them had anticipated. Soon, Jari's missing brothers are implicated in the murder of a god, making their return home all the more urgent. But when they are finally found in a distant land, troubles only seem to get worse for Jari and the companions he's picked up along the way.
