I began reading Heart-shaped Box when I got into a bit of a rut with Girl With Curious Hair and while finishing off The Complete Polysyllabic Spree. Oohhh... Heart-shaped Box is a little bit scary and a whole lot gross, but the premise ... ... Thirteenth Tale by Diane Setterfield for my "Gothic Fiction" category. Excellent, excellent book.
I am now reading Girl with Curious Hair by David Foster Wallace for my "Short Stories and Essays" category and The Colour of Magic by Terry Pratchett for my ''Science Fiction / Fan ... Girl With Curious Hair ... (Perhaps introduce each story individually). The choose a hybrid approach, and the results are somewhat muddled.
Girl with Curious Hair was my first David Foster Wallace, and it definitely got me interested in reading more of his works. The collection starts off pretty strong--some ... ... was a cute story and I liked the innocent feel of the illustrations, but it didn't seem particularly gothic to me.

I'm down to the last (and longest story) of David Foster Wallace's Girl with Curious Hair. I'm also listening to Frankenstein on audiobook and really enjoying it. I was actually kind of worried it would be disappointing, but it's quite good.
