A cliffhanger like that? Gahhhhhh ( )

This series sags in the middle chapters, though that may be partly my own fault for waiting two years after reading volume one before revisiting the series. Or the blame may lie with the writer for drawing out a game of cat-and-mouse for the length of the book, creating more questions than answers. I have volume three at hand and hope it wraps things up well. ( )

Velvet delves deeper into the conspiracy and narrows the traitor down to a few top-level colleagues, whom she proceeds to investigate using her own contacts. ( )

Another utterly gorgeous thrill ride. Velvet is the ULTIMATE heroine. ( )
