It did get better towards the end, though. Perhaps I am too old for this book because children seem to love it. I enjoyed the talking animals and the interaction of them with each other. The goose and gander are so charming with their talk, talk, talk. This is a must read for all children when they are growing up. If you never read the book just take an afternoon to read this story. It will only take a few hours if you read slower then most.
