It is 1935 and the world is on the brink of war. Delphine Venner has been sent down from school and her family has moved to Aldeberen Hall, home of the mysterious Lord Stoneham and a cast of odd characters. Delphine is convinced that there are spies and plots abounding and she sets out to find out the truth. The truth is rather more astounding that she might have thought.

I an sure there are people out there who will love this book with a passion. The first half is slow but develops a few interesting characters, the second half is just silly. I'm no fan of fantasy fiction unless it is done extremely well - this book I hated ( )
