This author comes through again. I believe that I have read everything he has written and I have never been disappointed.

This is the third book in the series of a world in which society has failed. There is no order or law and the strong will be the ones that survive. Each of the books focuses on one character and how they deal with the new world order. So far, each of the characters were in the first book. The author takes each character and delves into their mind in a way that will grip the reader and make you feel immersed in the story.

The first 2 books in the series were rather violent yet not off-putting. This book is about a 11 year old boy that came from a privileged family. He lost his family to violence and now he must figure out how to survive. The author has toned down the violence as befits the main character. Did I miss the gore and violence - a bit perhaps. However, I did get to read what Michael Robertson is capable of writing in a different vein. I think he is a very talented writer capable of great things. ( )
