A very nicely done overview of the modern political landscape in Canada. What most impressed me about this book was its 'emotional maturity'. That is, Mr. Adams discusses some of the most emotion-laden events and politics in Canada, yet manages to keep the tone of the discussion at an adult, hysteria-free level. That's not to say that he isn't passionate about the topics being discussed, but rather that he is able to do so without going out of his way to be rude or dismissive of others. A very pleasant change for a book about politics! It also helps that Mr. Adams is a decent writer, and is able to keep the book moving along nicely. This is also a nice change for a book about politics.
Hmm, if we could find equivalents to Mr. Adams at other ends of the political landscape, we might actually be able to hold an adult conversation about politics and policies. That would be nice. ( )
