Bodybuilding Anatomy 2E by Nick Evans
An authoritative book by orthopedic surgeon Dr. Nick Evans, who is a highly regarded expert on strength training and nutrition.
The detailed illustrations are clearly labeled and color-coded to identify primary and secondary muscles being worked. The illustrations have all been updated from the first edition. Steps for proper execution of the exercises are concise. The six chapters are divided between shoulders, chest, back, arms, legs and abdominals. Nineteen new exercises are in the 2nd edition.
Each chapter begins with an overview of the anatomical area. A variety of equipment is demonstrated for each muscle group including; barbells, dumbbells, cables and machines. Avoidance of certain exercises or using/not using certain techniques are included to prevent injury.
Readers will find the index helpful as it is organized by anatomical groups (shoulders for instance) and sub-divided by exercises to target muscles located in those areas.
Bodybuilding Anatomy is an excellent resource for bodybuilders, strength coaches, physical therapists, and personal trainers. Novice and intermediate athletes who want to build strength will definitely find the book useful and easy to understand. ( )
