Fantastische reeks. ( )

I'm still really enjoying the series. Volume three covers a lot of the life of Devadatta, a rather tragic figure who is mocked as a child for his lineage and turns disturbingly, yet somehow sympathetically, bad. There's a real depth of understanding to the character. While people who like to see good and evil in more Manichean terms may find this offputting, I found it engaging. ( )

Bah. Take a Natalie Gummer class and then come back to me with a comic. ( )

A delightful take on the life of the Buddha. I would not use it in a research paper, but the graphics catch the eye, and the plot keeps you reading. ( )

This is actually the first graphic novel that I have ever really liked (I have not read the first two volumes to this series as yet, however). Finally, a graphic novel with a subject worth reading about! ( )

Great series. The continuing story of the Buddha is the mainstay of this series but the story of Devadatta is the best part of this volume. Who knew that nature could be so cruel? As always Tezuka's artwork is beyond masterful. ( )
