History of Kendall County, Illinois tells the story of how the county has grown. There are glimpses of many facets of county life--early schools, churches, transportation, war efforts from the Civil War through the Vietnam Conflict. Also covered is the county's role in the underground railroad, helping slaves north to Canada. The book has over 130 photographs of early and present day scenes. The publishing of the book was undertaken by the Kendall County Bicentennial Commission, whose officers are listed. Short profiles of volunteer authors are included. Table of Contents. Bibliography.
