I was gifted the paperback copy of Seized by Obscurity: Evergreen Series by the author Joann Herley. What a great story and the way it is written keeps you entertained throughout. Meet Thomas,a son of a farmer, turned vampire and out of control when the Lady Lara from Evergreen Castle finds him. She takes him to the castle to help him overcome the madness. As she works to help him through this, little does she know that one of her army men, Jario, is secretly working with her evil sister Magna(keeper of Black Thistle Castle), to kidnap Lara and make her his mate so he can control Evergreen. Magna has been keeping 2 humans for her pleasure of tortutring them. One is Thomas's brother Tate. As Lara learns of the plans that Jario has for her, she readies her army to arrest both of them, thus begins the journey of Thomas, Lara, Tate, as they hunt them down, but Lara is kidnapped by Balgair, a powerful vampire and collector of powers. The search for Lara has Thomas making deals with a with, who takes his eyesight, for payment of help. As the army goes in search for Lara in the Canyon of Obscurity many things happen. Come along for the ride with Thomas and Lara's story to see what happens next. I throughly enjoyed a new twist on vampire books, and it is so well written you will feel to the core. It is appropriate for teens and adults and it kinda reminds you of a Harry Potter book, since it has a great adventure. Well done Joann!! ( )
