Amazon.com Product Description (ISBN 0965813754, Paperback)

Barley Cakes:parables for the 21st century is a collection of 30 new parables, each drawn from one line of the Gospels. They all take place in The Village, a rural home to a group of wonderful people: the potter, the basket maker, the healer, the smallest child, the weaver, the prodigal parents, the flute maker and a cast of wonderful people seeking and sharing wisdom. This cast of characters is distinguished by having no gendered pronouns to define their gender, and thus, since they are identified neither as male or female we can all find ourselves in each of the people in these stories.
