Got ebook omnibus/bundle of this series. Made it thru most of second book. Past first chapter, despite liking author's earlier series, could not get into characters or the storyline. Skimmed chapters of rest and just never caught my interest. Was definitely "urban fantasy" and way too violent (senseless, bloody, and explicitly violent) to ever be suited to YA audience so at least was no Twilight wannabe kinda vampire book. That first chapter sample was very misleading. I do not like my characters so dumb or so violent. And the plot was such a confused morass that did not seem to resolve itself. ( )

Well I would not buy book 3 and 4 but I would love to be able to read them, just don't think it is worth the money if you catch my drift.

I liked book 2 especially Cyrus his story was interesting and touching. ( )

More of the same, really. The book starts very slowly, and then rushes towards the ending in the last few chapters. I don't think I quite followed everything the characters decided to do at the time they decided to do it, but the story does all make sense. Again, the real strength of these books is not the vampire high jinks, but the fucked up yet honest lovelives of the protagonists. ( )

Possession by Jennifer Armintrout Book two in the Blood Ties Series continues the story, life, trials and tribulations of Dr Carrie Ames and her new status as a Vampire. In this book Carrie has broken her tie with Cyrus and made a new Blood Tie with Nathan. She has even gotten used to drinking blood. Unfortunately nothing stays good long, now Nathan has been possessed and Carrie needs to find him before the Voluntary Vampire Extinction Movement does. Nathan however does the unthinkable whilst possessed and kills an innocent human! So if the movement find him they will kill him upon sight. it turns out that nathan has been possessed by the most powerful and feared Soul Eater.......

I enjoyed this book and as I read it straight after book one just continued the "adventures" of Carrie, Nathan, Max etc. Not much more to say really still well written and kept me hooked with the action , wanting to know what happens next. ( )

Two Minute Review for “Possession” by Jennifer Armintrout

Nathan becomes possessed by a spell of madness and Carrie must save him. Carrie is still divided by her fascination for Cyrus and her love for Nathan. The side story of Cyrus, resurrected as a human after Carrie kills him in book one, is interesting. I like that he is still an unattractive character but growing. Max and Bella are an even better side story. They vampire, werewolf dynamic is less interesting than the character clashes. They are a little funnier, the book needs funny in a big way. Plot twists are good and you don’t see all of them coming. Carrie is still an emotional wimp but she is trying and now Nathan is not. Sigh. ( )

Amazon.com Product Description (ISBN 0778324184, Mass Market Paperback)

My father always said fear was a weakness. Well, that's easy to say when you don't have to worry about vampire slayers or holy water. I hate fear, but undead life goes on. In the two months since I was attacked in the hospital morgue and turned into a vampire, I've killed my evil sire, Cyrus, fallen in love with my new sire, Nathan, and have even gotten used to drinking blood. Just when things are finally returning to normal--as normal as they can be when sunlight can kill you--Nathan becomes possessed. And then he slaughters an innocent human.

Now it's my job to find Nathan before the Voluntary Vampire Extinction Movement does, because they're just waiting for an excuse to terminate him--and anyone foolish enough to help him. But it gets worse. It turns out that Nathan's been possessed by one of the most powerful and wicked vampires alive--the Soul Eater. And who knows what vile plan he's concocted?

With the Soul Eater and my possessed sire on the loose, I have a lot to fear. Including being killed. Again.
