The mood of this book is really nice. It gives me that warm and fuzzy holiday feeling when I read it and look at the illustrations. I love the three characters too. They are lovable and silly. A perfect book to read to younger kids on a cold and cozy winter day.

The story explores physical, emotional, and interpretive difference between three toys. The story emphasizes the importance of being able to appreciate the world from both a scientific perspective and from an artistic one.

Toys Meet Snow tells the story of three toys who go outside in the snow for the first time. Lumphy the stuffed buffalo is very curious about the world and asks a lot of questions. StingRay is very poetic and answers most of the questions in a fun and whimsical manner. Plastic is a ball who answers Lumphy's questions in a scientific matter. They go out to play and have a great deal of fun! By the end of the day Plastic has a lot of fun and realizes that not everything has to be about science.

Lumphy, StingRay, and Plastic—the toys from the beloved chapter books Toys Go Out, Toy Dance Party, and Toys Come Home—are back in a glorious full-color picture book, perfect for gift-giving this holiday season. Acclaimed author Emily Jenkins and Caldecott Medal–winning illustrator Paul Zelinsky have created a book destined to become a classic.
