Coral sets off for a solo weekend of cave exploration - a break from college - and ends up holing up there as something apocalyptic occurs that intensely burns up the world - at least as far as she can see. Eventually she is able to walk out of the area, searching for water and eventually finding another person alive - Benjamin. While he's not someone she might have been friends with before, she comes to recognize his good qualities and they agree to try to walk out to seek resources and other people. They meet up with a bad element as they raid a Walmart for supplies, and at the end they are still in route to somewhere seeking help.

I want to know more about what happened to the world, and what happens next for them. I appreciated that there are no zombies, and that every single male has not turned out to be selfish and evil. Keep the story going! ( )
