Because the birth event profoundly affects everyone involved, it deserves careful and thoughtful preparations. This manual was written to assist you in preparing for the birth of your child by reviewing material presented by your childbirth educator and offering guidelines for your own practice sessions. It reflects our philosophy that: 1) childbirth is a joyful experience for which parents should prepare, and 2) preparation should give a woman confidence in her body's ability to give birth.
