Une fugue qui tourne différemment de ce que l’on pensait, et une jeune fille qui finit par rentrer dans le rang. Amer vision d’un amour romantique rattrapé par un loquet de porte à quatre sous.
C’est une nouvelle toute simple mais terriblement cynique que Graham Greene donne à lire. Une découverte livresque intéressante, même s’il reste peu d’espoir après cela, seulement la prosaïque réalité.
