To the hundreds of volunteers from all aspects of the graphic arts industry who, over the past 37 years, have given their time and freely shared their insights, expertise, and business practices to make this handbook an essential resource for graphic artists and their clients. If there were a Lifetime Achievement Award for volunteers, it would undoubtedly go to illustrator Simms Taback. He was part of that visionary group that gave birth to the first edition, and his perseverance, hard work, and direction helped the book grow from a 20-page booklet to the over 350-page volume it is today. Without the collective contributions and continued support of Simms and all the other volunteers, a project of this magnitude would not be possible. Their efforts make the handbook the standard industry reference it is today.
