Not only are the pictures comical, the whole book made me laugh. Thomas is a stubborn child who will not allow his mother to put on his snowsuit. The situation gets worse and worse as both the mother and Thomas' principal try and put on his suit and they end up in cloud of dust and come out wearing different clothes. Robert Munsch really portrays the behaviour of children in a very funny way, as children are often disobedient for no reason. In the end, when Thomas is left alone, he puts on his snowsuit like it is no problem. I enjoyed reading this book and can understand why children like Robert Munsch's work so much. ( )

This is a funny story about a very strong willed boy who does not want to wear his snowsuit. He starts out his day fighting with his mom, then his teacher and finally his principal. They all try stuffing him into his snowsuit, but end up in each others clothes at different times in the story. When they finally give up and leave Thomas alone, he does what they were trying to get him to do in the first place and puts on his snowsuit.

I love this story. I have read this book many times to different groups of children and everytime they giggle and laugh through the whole story. It is also an easy book to get the children involved in. They can help you read it. The book also hits close to home. My daughter is a very independent, strong willed child and does not want to do anything unless it is her idea.

Extension Ideas: Draw a picture of oneself in a snowsuit, Make a class book students with their snowsuits on, Draw pictures of other things one might need to keep themselves warm in cold weather. ( )

This is a wonderful book! The story invites participation when you read it aloud and children start giggling in anticipation each time Thomas must put on his snowsuit. This is Robert Munsch at his finest! ( )

A funny story of a boy who hates putting on his snowsuit. He fights with his mother, his teacher, and even the school principal, and comes out victorious in his own way. As usual with Munsch's stories, the adults are silly and the clever kid outwits them. Our kids liked this one since they were preschoolers, and maybe even better now they are in kindergarten. ( )
