The book is a perfect compilation of 18 different fairy tales and fables. A good mixture of well known ones, like Little Red Riding Hood, Cinderella or the Ugly Duckling and others which are lesser known, but as good, like Clever Rabbit, Stone Soup or The Giant Turnip (which was one of my favourite stories when I was a kid, as it's so much fun, when more and more have to join to try and pull the giant turnip out).
The tales have been adapted in a way, to make them very suitable for young readers and eager bedtime story listeners. Elaborate, overlong and repetitiv passages have been shortened a bit and it has been done well and very carefully, without losing the message of the story or it's beauty.

Every single page is enhanced with colourful and vivid illustrations. Children will enjoy to look at the lovely pictures and they will want to have the stories read to them over and over again. It's a wonderful and timeless addition for every storytime and bedtime read for young children and for the kids, who already read their first chapter books, it's a lovely addition to their shelf to further enhance their reading skills.
