Note: I am rating this based on the works by M.J. Holman herself.

Mental illness is one of those subjects that can be extraordinarily sticky to address. There are different schools of thought, including some who believe that there's "no such thing as mental illness and that it's just the case of the blues". In The Sea of Conscience, MJ Holman shares her ongoing battle through poetry and prose. From chinks in the external armor that one has to put on to face society to allowing the full force of emotions to purge forth, all of MJ Holman's works have a way of keeping you captive--screaming that all must be put on notice. I hope the author realizes that her candidness is assisting others out there who are dealing with similar battles and that this method is a catharsis for her to accept and adapt. The Sea of Conscience is a testament that to creative functionality and vibrancy in spite of, as well as because of. A definite mainstay in my electronic device, and I hope someday to have this beautiful work in print. If there is a follow up to this excavation, I definitely will not say no!

Applauding your bravery. Thank you. ( )
