The purpose of this training manual is to provide a basis for conducting a well-organised training program for pharmacy personnel involved in preparing intravenous admixtures. The manual allows trainees to learn at their own speed, provides material for review throughout the training period, and serves as a reference after the training program is completed. Although this manual is intended primarily for training I.V. admixture or other health care providers who have had little or no previous training in this area. This manual has been made as complete as was practical, recognising that detailed techniques may differ, depending upon the I.V. administration system used and the policies and procedures of a specific pharmacy department.
