Part gardening book, part "encounters with remarkable vegetables," Amy Goldman's The Compleat Squash unearths the personalities--yes, personalities--of the pumpkin and the squash. Beautiful pictures and an excellent resource for gardeners who love the squash family. The photographs in this are all works of art. ( )

That title isn't misspelled. This is a very big, thick book of all the pumpkins, squash and gourds, probably from around the world. Not only does it contain big, color pictures of all the vegetables, it also lists the uses of that particular one and it's taste, if edible. The back section has lots of unusual recipes, like pumpkin creme brulee, winter squash chicken pot pie and zucchini pizza crust. ( )

This book has a fantastic variety of full page full color photographs of all sorts of squash, but mainly the winter variety. A great book for anyone who likes to eat and grow them.
