(ARC was provided to read and review.)

The story starts off as a fun boat trip. Crustina and her friend Kathlean are aboard Crustina's pretty pink boat. The sun is burning down, it's getting very hot and they decide to head back to shore, when something extraordinary happens to Crustina and then something even more weird happens and luckily Kathlean is safely back on land.
But what happened to Crustina? Well, you don't know, because the author doesn't provide us with an answer as to Crustina's destiny, the story ends with a big questionmark.

I found this quite an unsual way of "storytelling", as the young reader is challenged to come up with their own idea. The book has the potential to inspire lively discussions within a group, when the kids let their imagination run free, but the missing end makes it a rather quick, short read.
Still, I can see this being the right book for a summer beach excursion and the children having fun to try to think of all the possible whereabouts of Crustina.

The illustrations are bright and beautiful, especially the pink boat, I find quite stunning. ( )
